You|| On picking your tribe

Hey Lemon Drops, its felt like ages and i came down with malaria too. Im better now, still havnt finished my medication but its whatever. I'm pretty sure we can all agree that regardless of how cold
we claim to be, we all can agree on the importance of friends, we can also agree that real friends are hard to come by. Good friends, friends that uplift and support you. Friends that you can be yourself with too because it makes no sense if you have to pretend to be something your not.

We've all experienced a little back stabbing and its made us all a little bit cold, we want to protect ourselves in the future. Totally understandable, I have a contrary opinion to that though. Don't turn cold, don't lose yourself because life happened. Live and let go. Its easy to turn cold and uncaring but trust me on this, holding on to yourself is so much better. I'm not saying keep falling into traps or loving people stupidly, LEARN! Learn from the past and move on.
Listen, life is what happens while your busy planning it out. Basically you cant plan your life. Just live, achieve your goals, do things that make you feel alive, love. Its so easy to love nowadays, everyone thinks its a form of weakness but its not. Only strong people can truly love and will work at it.

So I have a few things I usually consider when choosing friends or people I want in my immediate circle and these are
I associate higher: Higher here means people who are intelligent than I am. People who will bring out the best in me. Don't go attaching to people because of monetary worth, go for people of substance.

I choose friends with similar values as myself.
I make friend with people I feel I have common goals with.
I choose friends who can bring balance into my life.
I make friends with people who can stretch, motivate and encourage me.
Also friends that can buy me food, make me laugh, uplift me spiritually, etc are also welcome.

Now, you're obviously not going to have an audition in order to find people like this but here are also a few tips:
 1. Be yourself.
2. Get involved in extracurricular activities
3. Try to know a little about everything.
4. Find common ground.
5. Eat meals with people.
6. Ask the usual questions.

Friends who buy you food should NEVER be taken for granted.
